Water and Wastewater Treatment Chemicals

Water is a limited resource, vital for human life and essential for social and economic development. Despite its importance, however, it was only in the last decades that humankind started to gain awareness of water scarcity and the Earth’s dwindling water supply. Due to the fact that water plays a crucial role in any industrial process, handling it correctly is of paramount importance to industries.

Treating industrial wastewater brings about major benefits, both for the producer and the community. Firstly, it avoids the contamination of surface water and groundwater tables by complying with current legislation. Secondly, the treated water could be reused in some industrial processes, and in this way this limited resource would be preserved.

For this purpose, Polykim offers a wide range of products that, together with your staff’s technical knowledge, enable you to find the best solutions for the treatment of wastewater and industrial raw water.

In Polykim we design every product specially for each one of our clients, making sure that it has the highest quality possible and adapting to the characteristics and needs of our clients. In this way, we offer an high-quality product that is cost-effective.

We offer solutions for wastewater treatment and water treatment processes for industrial use.

Inorganic Coagulants

We offer inorganic coagulants for primary treatments.

These products, high in active matter, are very effective in coagulating almost any type of material in a suspension, both in river water and industrial wastewater.

Cationic Polyamines

Polykim manufactures a wide array of cationic polyamines that can be used as coagulants or flocculants. They are highly effective in the treatment of industrial raw water from rivers and they achieve excellent clarification and discoloration. They can also be used as flocculants after a treatment with an inorganic coagulant. We provide two kinds of polyamines that have different molecular weights according to the client’s needs.

Flocculants

We provide inorganic flocculants based on polyacrylamides, which can be cationic, nonionic and anionic depending of their application and molecular weight.

Anionic polyacrylamides’ charge density can range from 5 to 100%. They are used mainly in raw water clarification, processed water recycling, fermentation byproducts recovery and river mud dehydration.

Our high-quality cationic polyacrylamides are available in emulsion form. These products have a charge density that varies between 0 and 95%. They are effective for primary clarification, mud thickening and biological mud dehydration.

Scale Inhibitors

Polykim manufactures scale inhibitors based on pure or multifunctional acrylate polymers. They are used in water circuits such as cooling systems, boilers and heat exchangers, and they avoid scale and corrosion of facilities in contact with water.

Defoamers

Pure liquids do not generate foam because they do not have variations in surface tension. If there is foam, then there must be an originating agent, such as proteins, lignins, detergents, cleansing agents and other surfactants.

In the case of wastewater, the agents from which foam originates can be diverse or unknown.

A defoamer must be carefully selected according to expert criteria in order to guarantee that the selection has been appropriate and that the dosage chosen leads to the best use of the product.

The defoaming products offered by Polykim hinder the formation of chemical or mechanical foam, and they reduce the existent foam to minimum levels.

► Silicone based defoamers

Polykim provides defoaming silicones that prevent, suppress and control the forming of undesirable foam, which can be costly in industrial chemical processes.

► Non silicone defoamers

For situations in which a defoamer is required but silicone-based products are incompatible, Polykim provides defoamers that do not contain silicone, oil or other oily products.

They mix with water completely and provide an effective foam control.

Emulsion Breakers

Our emulsion breaking polymers break the stability inherent to every emulsioned effluent, thus achieving maximum separation of associated charge.

This operation allows for saving in conventional coagulants, given the fact that their usual dosage is a much smaller quantity and their results in COD and turbidity are excellent.

They are optimal for the process of dissolved air flotation (DAF).
